Welcome to the podcast, Andrew and we also have Katrina Stephenson, who is an employee of McCarthy Painting and also in business development. So this would be a lively, fun conversation, because marketing is always that way. And as a business owner, it’s such a big bit of I don’t know, probably I spend most of my time thinking about marketing, business marketing, business development, and that kind of thing. So it’s great to have you on the podcast, how are you holding up at this time? Andrew?

Andrew Gardner  2:34

Great, it’s great to be part of it. I appreciate you, uh, welcoming onto it. And so far, we’re doing okay, you know, not easy out there. But there is enough to keep things moving. So yeah, you know, we’re kind of trying to pivot and be flexible and be a little bit more creative in our approach to developing business and marketing. But overall, you know, we’re making some progress, even things moving forward.

Greg Owens  2:53

And pivot has been like, the word I’ve seen thrown around. I mean, it was being thrown around before this pandemic, but definitely, everybody’s had to make some sort of pivot in their life, no matter what they do, or where they’re at. And you personally, like, like, COVID, how’s this been for you this, in retrospect, looking at this last year, you know, I’m

Andrew Gardner  3:13

pretty fortunate, I don’t think that I was personally affected by it as much as a lot of people are, I mean, we live out in the East Bay. So you know, our house has a yard, makes it, you know, easy to get outside. I’m also a pretty big outdoorsman. And so, you know, on weekends, we’re usually doing stuff in the outdoors, and then a pretty good reprieve from everything. But you know, I really feel for the people who were stuck in apartments or don’t have the same kind of passion for the outdoors that we do. So overall, it’s been okay, you know, I’m just trying to stay positive and recognize all the benefits of a lifestyle that we do live. Right, right. Yeah.

Greg Owens  3:45

Yeah. I think being able to go outside and have you know, some of those kinds of freedoms. I mean, they tried taking some of that stuff away, for sure. Right. But yeah, I think a lot of us knew secret spots and that kind of thing. And it was like, there’s no way this Yeah, I sanity. And I can only imagine, you know, I go into the city a lot. I’m located here in Marin County, and, and I go into the city a lot and being you know, an apartment that never appealed to me before, then it’s got to be it’s got to be tough. And I noticed so many people that have fled the city at this point, you know, in a lot of ways, it feels like a ghost town over there.

Andrew Gardner  4:21

Now, I know it’s been interesting.

Greg Owens  4:23

Yeah. And so tell me a bit about your career path here and business development in construction. And well, how did that come to be?
