Commercial and residential painting projects can get tricky when you only add a new coat of paint and call it a day. With most repainting, you have to go beyond the first layer and check whether the wood or drywall is still able to support the new coat or if it has started to root due to mildew or the structure’s age. Greg Owens, owner of McCarthy Painting, seeks to provide his clients with an experience that aligns with their desire for clean walls, convenient planning, and a relationship with painters built on trust.

In this week’s episode, Greg Owens gets interviewed by John Corcoran of Rise25 in his own show about the history of McCarthy Painting and the purpose of pre-planning with clients and traders who hire them to work on a project. Greg also talks about the necessity of building a coherent team, working with clients and their schedules and budget, and how to best ensure smooth logistics and coordination when working on a painting project. Stay tuned.

With me is I have John Corcoran here, who has done thousands of interviews with successful entrepreneurs, investors, and CEOs and we have flipped the script today and he will be interviewing me.

John Corcoran 1:05

Alright Greg, thanks so much for having me. I’m super excited to be here. And in this episode, we’re going to be talking about what are the top considerations that facilities managers and building owners and property managers need to think about concerning beautifying and maintaining facilities today, particularly regular painting schedules, main managing and coordinating painting contractors and other trades in order to really beautify and maintain their properties for the long term. So we’re going to dive into that all the different considerations that you have to take into account but first before we do that, this episode is brought to you by McCarthy Painting, which serves commercial and residential clients all around the San Francisco Bay Area. They’ve been in business since 1969, and serves companies such as Google, Autodesk, Abercrombie and Fitch, FICO, first spin, First Bank, Spin and many more if you have commercial facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area need dependable painters. You can visit them on the web and McCarthyPainting.com or email info@McCarthyPainting.com. All right. So Greg, take us through this. There’s so many different concerns and we’re going to knock through them really quickly. But there’s so many different concerns for building owners and facilities managers around how do you really efficiently and effectively maintain your properties in a way that’s going to beautify it? At the same time? You know, these especially commercial commercial facilities? How are they going to operate efficiently with workers coming and going, the public coming and going, let’s start with logistics around when to do the work. How do you tackle that initial concern?

Greg Owens 2:40

Yeah, it’s a big concern, the logistics of when and how the painting is going to take place inside somebody’s building, because you got and you got to think about this a little bit in that each building can be completely different. So we have like, if it’s a if it’s a, if it’s a building in San Francisco, and it’s got mixed, use Whereas like there’s, there’s software companies may be on the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth floor, and there’s retail stores on the bottom floors, right. So we really have to, like, consider all of those constituents inside that building.

John Corcoran 3:17

And so it’s really a different approach if it’s retail versus mixed use for this commercial.
